Dresden, July 27th, 2022 - Only a few days before the actual start, the first staging of the IRONMAN 70.3 is probably still in the balance due to the still missing official approval for the bike course.
After the third version of the bike course was published last week and presented as the official route ( > to the report ), there is still no approval for this section. According to information from Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR), there was still no agreement between the organizer and the authorities at the beginning of the week.
The new design of the bike course provides for a shuttle route between Dresden and Meissen on the B6 federal road. This must be completely blocked for the competition .

Difficulties arise here due to the neighboring towns and communities, which no longer have any arrival or departure options due to the closure. This federal road is also a feeder road. Accordingly, there are still some conflicts of interest to be resolved. T he deliberations continue.
