Frankfurt City Triathlon 2023 mit neuem Rennformat

The Frankfurt City Triathlon will start its next round on August 6, 2023. In addition to its four different track lengths, there will be a new race format next year.

On August 6, 2023, the starting signal for the Frankfurt City Triathlon will be given again at the Langener Waldsee. The event, which is now being held for the thirteenth time, has become one of the most important traditions on the Frankfurt sports scene calendar. The race, which has made it its main task to offer triathlon for everyone, has expanded its repertoire to up to four different distances in recent years. The Frankfurt City Triathlon offers a platform for all athletes, from the beginner triathlon on the Jedermann distance to demanding routes for professional athletes.

NEW: Swim & Bike middle distance

In order to expand this offer even further, the organizer Eventpower will include a Swim&Bike in its offer for the first time in 2023. It is now also possible to take part in the middle distance without having to complete the running course. All athletes who register for the Swim&Bike have to complete 2 km on the swim course and 80 km on the bike. After that, they can park their bikes in transition zone 2 on the Roßmarkt and only have to complete the last few meters on the home straight to finish their race successfully. The new race will take place parallel to the existing formats.

Swim & Bike also at other events

Eventpower GmbH is also using the same concept for its two races in Baden-Württemberg. There you can also measure yourself on the Olympic distance at the Volksbank pur Triathlon Mühlacker powered by Stadtwerke Mühlacker on July 23, 2023 and at the Kraichgau Energie Summertime Triathlon powered by Volksbank Stutensee-Weingart on August 13, 2023 in the new Swim&Bike format. “We are trying to make our offer more diverse and to make it easier to get started with the longer distances of triathlon. In addition, there are always athletes who, for example for health reasons, do not manage to complete the running route. Swimming and cycling are much easier on the joints. This enables many athletes to continue to take part in a competition without having to endanger their health," says Annette Albers about the inclusion of Swim&Bike in the program.
