On August 21, 2022, the KULT race at the Großer Alpsee will start for the 40th time. So that the Allgäu Triathlon can continue to be held for the next 40 years, this year's edition is under the sign of #BeKULT, an offensive for more sustainability - and thus for the future of triathlon!
The Allgäu Triathlon has been an integral part of the racing calendar of the German triathlon scene since 1983 - and it should stay that way. As part of this mission, the organizational team decided to launch an initiative for the next generation of triathletes: #BeKULT includes, among other things, a catalog of measures that will make the popular triathlon event in Immenstadt possible for the next 40 be prepared for years and remain true to yourself.

Science meets sports event
The catalog was created in cooperation with the scientific think tank sportainable. Behind think.sportainable is a team of scientists from BaySpo | Bayreuth Center for Sports Science at the University of Bayreuth under the direction of Prof. Peter Kuhn.
The event was put to the test in an extensive process, based among other things on the sustainability factors developed by the German Triathlon Union (DTU). This resulted in the first clear recommendations for action for more sustainability at the Allgäu sports highlight. The measures are aimed at areas such as mobility and traffic, waste and sustainability management, economy and social affairs, but also merchandising and trade fair planning as well as the use of water and the event environment.
#KULT becomes #BeKULT
The measures will be implemented starting with this year's event. "We see the optimizations at the Allgäu Triathlon 2022 as a first step towards the future," explains Christoph Fürleger, Managing Director of the Allgäu Triathlon. "In general, however, #BeKULT is not an ad hoc story for us, but a long-term process with ambitious goals that we want to achieve in the coming years - together and involving the entire team and all departments."
Always in focus: the “next generation” idea. It is also reflected in the starting field for the 2022 edition, which, in addition to established professional names, is intended to include high-flyers in the scene. The final entry list will be published by the beginning of August.

Genau richtig so, Triathlon hat so eine schlechte co2 Bilanz (Flug, viel Material das häufig erneuert wird)
