Zwift: Neue Strecken "Urukazi" - Inseln der Giganten

Zwift News: As of last week, Zwifters can navigate the new "Urukazi" map, the latest addition to the Makuri Islands. This includes over 40 miles of virtual roads to explore across the Makuri Islands, taking cyclists from cityscapes to countryside and now to the coast.

Urukazi (woo-roo-kah-zi) is a combination of two Okinawan words - "uru" means "shore" and "kazi" means "breeze". The combination of the two words is intended to evoke the quiet, unspoilt character of the southern Japanese archipelago. On the roads of Urukazi you'll find our 'zwift' interpretation of the landscape of these islands as you ride on cobblestone, gravel and a new type of ground in the Zwift universe.

One can enter Urukazi directly through a paddock or choose to drive south from Yumezi or Neokyo. The drive from Yumezi to Urukazi leads through a canyon or you can explore the cave system of Neokyo. An impressive coastline on fast gravel roads that lead directly along the water. A real test for the legs while traversing the flora, fauna and varied landscapes of the Makuri Islands.

8 new routes to choose from:

1. Mech Isle Loop: Short circular route through an industrial area, route length 4 km, altitude difference: 38.7m

2. Bridges and Boardwalks: The largest island in Urukazi, route length 6.3 km, elevation gain: 59.5m

4. Fine and Sandy: Mangroves and sandy beaches on the road loop, route length 10.6 km, altitude difference: 77.1 m

5. Island Outskirts: A race around the outskirts of Urukazi, distance 11.3 km, elevation gain: 90.1 m
