MATERIALS / KONA BIKE COUNT

Which material rolls in Hawaii has been recorded for many years by the "Kona Bike Count" commissioned by colleagues from triathlete magazine. As soon as the athletes have checked their bikes into the transition area, dozens of experts examine each bike to record the frame, wheels and other components. Since the last Ironman World Championship was held in Hawaii in 2019, we compare the results with the data from the Kona Bike Count 2019. There are some interesting shifts.

Due to the doubling of the starters in 2022, the absolute numbers are of course significantly higher here, which is why we have shown the percentage of the total amount for comparison. In addition, in the 2022 count, some individual pieces or unbranded components were no longer recorded (see corresponding note in the categories).
