On July 2nd, 2022, a classic of the Brandenburg triathlon events returned to the stage. After a four-year break, the popular Werbellinsee Triathlon took place again with a new race organization. Almost 700 athletes were looking forward to the premiere of the competition and the crystal clear water of the Werbellinsee, about 40 kilometers north of Berlin.
Three different competition formats were available: People's triathlon (0.4-11-3), sprint triathlon (0.7-19-5) and Olympic distance (1.5-37-9). In addition, the men's and women's regional league offered hot racing action in excellent conditions.
Between the forests - which are also explored for the final cross-country run - and the blue waves of the lake, there is also plenty of space to offer the whole family a common destination. The transition zone on the adjacent soccer field provides space for athletes of all requirements.
The new organization team of the endurance friends eV from Berlin will continue the series of events next year. After the success of the first triathlon at Werbellinsee in 4 years, where we were able to see many happy faces, we are already looking forward to next season.
The next WerbellinseeTriathlon will take place on July 8, 2023.
